Run pre-built ECU firmware on supported virtual hardware in the Nebula cloud. Connect virtual ECUs, observe their communication and record sessions for debugging and integration testing.
For automotive software teams that need to test firmware and ECU communication without dedicating a physical bench to every investigation. A virtual ECU runs firmware against an emulated processor and peripheral model, so the supported hardware model determines which workloads can run.
Firmware, networks and test visibility.
- Firmware
- Pre-built ELF and BIN images, including supported Zephyr, FreeRTOS and bare-metal workloads.
- Target hardware
- Share your architecture, board model and required peripherals with the TrueFidelity team to discuss compatibility and a suitable virtual target.
- Networks
- Virtual CAN and Ethernet for supported ECU configurations.
- Analysis
- Live CAN messages, DBC signal decoding, ECU console output, recording and replay.
Tell us your MCU or SoC, operating system and required peripherals so we can assess compatibility. Virtual testing complements hardware testing; electrical behaviour, physical interfaces and timing requirements still need validation on the target hardware.
From integration to investigation.
Test ECU communication
Connect supported ECU firmware in a virtual topology and inspect the messages exchanged between components. Use CAN signal decoding to investigate interfaces and integration behaviour before bringing the same test to a physical bench.
Investigate software changes
Run a firmware build on the same supported virtual target and inspect its console output and bus traffic. Compare the behaviour you observe with the expected messages and signals for your test case.
Review a recorded test
Record CAN traffic and console logs during a session. Replay the captured communication for debugging and share the test context with the engineers investigating it.
Start with your firmware and a test case.
Share the target architecture, required peripherals, communication interfaces and the behaviour you want to investigate. We can discuss a suitable virtual target, how to connect the ECUs and what evidence the test should produce.
